19th Century Rococo style ladies' desk inlaid with light wood in the form of flowers and foliage, cabriole legs with attached brass fittings, frame with drawer. At the bottom with fire stamp for King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine. H. 73, L. 100, W. 60 cm. Provenance: Sorgenfri Castle. The brand stamp is for the newly married couple Prince Christian of Denmark (1870-1947) and Duchess Alexandrine of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1879-1952), married 1898, succeeded 1912. Afterwards the estate of Crown Princess Caroline-Mathilde, sold at Boye's auctions, 1997.
